The Clarington Baseball Association is
seeking a respected leader to guide our umpiring program and help shape the
future of the game in our community. If you know the rules inside and out,
believe in fair play, and want to support and develop umpires at every level,
this role is for you.
This is a vital leadership position responsible for guiding our umpiring program and upholding the standards of fairness, safety, and respect across all levels of play. With the growing demands of today’s sport environment, we are seeking a strong, steady leader who is committed to both excellence on the field and the development of our umpiring community.
The successful candidate will bring:
- Baseball Ontario Umpire Certification (Level 2 minimum; Level 3 preferred)
- Experience officiating competitive youth baseball
- Strong rules knowledge, game management, and communication skills
- A calm, decisive leadership style with the ability to address misconduct and enforce standards
- A commitment to youth development and respect for officials
Key responsibilities include:
Recruiting, mentoring, and training umpires each season
Upholding high standards of officiating in alignment with Baseball Ontario guidelines
Organizing clinics, workshops, and development opportunities
Scheduling umpires for house league, select, rep, and elite games and tournaments
Serving as the primary liaison between umpires and the CBA
The UIC provides leadership for recruitment, training, scheduling, and accountability of umpires, and serves as the key liaison between umpires, coaches, and the CBA Board of Directors. Full role details, including assets and responsibilities, are available on the application page.
