We’re excited to introduce the nominees who have stepped forward for election to the 2025 Clarington Baseball Association Board of Directors. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time and dedication to help grow baseball in our community.

⚾️ Meet Your Nominees

Luke Frise
Luke’s key strengths include excellent communication, relationship management, and a focus on development and process over results. His positive, empathetic leadership style has guided his work as the current Director of Player and Coach Development.

Craig Wiles
With over 40 years in baseball as a player, coach, and umpire - including 13 of the last 15 years coaching in Clarington, Craig brings a wealth of experience and leadership from his past roles as VP, Select Director, and UIC for the CBA.

Matt Dyck
With three seasons as a rep baseball coach and a strong background in process and continuous improvement, Matt is passionate about helping players and coaches reach their full potential. His collaborative leadership style is grounded in experience serving on non-profit boards.

Chad Pilon
A lifelong athlete and proud Clarington baseball parent, Chad’s connection to the CBA runs through his son Brock, whose U13 team won the House League Championship this summer. He brings a love of teaching sports and a fresh, community-focused perspective.

Darrell Sadler
Darrell has coached 13U House League for the past two seasons and is passionate about creating positive, developmental experiences for players at every level of the game.

Ryan Gardiner
Ryan has led Orioles teams for the past three seasons, earning respect for his patience, deep baseball knowledge, and ability to connect with players. He emphasizes unity, teamwork, and the importance of developing good people as well as strong athletes.

Doug Abbott
Doug brings a lifetime of baseball and leadership experience as a former NCAA Division I player, longtime coach in Durham Region, and former Senior VP at Rogers Sportsnet. He’s eager to share his vision for supporting Clarington Baseball’s continued growth.

Julie Van Hartingsveldt
Julie’s extensive background in non-profit governance, government relations, and advocacy has been instrumental in shaping Clarington Baseball. As former President, she led the launch of the elite program and introduced a second tier in every division, setting the association up for long-term success.
