Welcome to the Junior House League Program

T-BALL

Age: 4 & 5 year-olds (2019 & 2020)
Season:mid-May to mid-August
Game frequency: 1 session per week (2:1 practice to game ratio, incorporated into the weekly session)
Game Nights: Monday or Thursday (subject to change)
Game Length: 1 hour

T-Ball is a simplified game of baseball.  Players hit off a rubber ‘tee’ rather than from a pitcher.  Hitting from a tee teaches players the skills of batting, catching, running the bases, and throwing, before having to learn how to hit a moving target.  Teamwork and skill development are encouraged. Games are not scored.

What players need: water bottle, sneakers, baseball glove, batting helmet, grey baseball pants/long pants.  Optional:  baseball bat, batting gloves, cleats (without metal spikes), jock/jill (recommended)

What the CBA provides:  team jersey, hat, team equipment (bases, T, balls, bats), individual and team photos


MINOR 4 PITCH

Age: 6 year-olds (2018)
Season: mid-May to mid-August
Game frequency: 1 session per week (2:1 practice to game ratio, incorporated into the weekly session)
Game Nights: Wednesday (subject to change)
Game Length: 1 hour

4-Pitch is a step up from T-Ball.  Players learn to hit a moving target, with coaches or parents tossing the ball to the batter. Batters get up to 4 good pitches to hit the ball per at-bat.  Teamwork, skill development and sportsmanship are encouraged. Games are not scored.

What players need: water bottle, sneakers, baseball glove, batting helmet, grey baseball pants/long pants.  Optional:  baseball bat, batting gloves, cleats (without metal spikes), jock/jill (recommended)

What the CBA provides:  team jersey, hat, team equipment (bases, practice T, balls, bats), individual and team photos

 

MAJOR 4 PITCH

Age: 7 year-olds (2017)
Season: mid-May to mid-August
Game frequency: 1 session per week (2:1 practice to game ratio, incorporated into the weekly session)
Game Nights:  Wednesday (subject to change)
Game Length: 1 hour

Players hit balls pitched from a pitching machine. Batters get 4 up to good pitches to hit the ball per at-bat.  Teamwork, skill development, sportsmanship, fielding and learning rules of the game are encouraged. Games are not scored. Scores are kept at subsequent program levels.

What players need: water bottle, sneakers, baseball glove, batting helmet, grey baseball pants/long pants.  Optional:  baseball bat, batting gloves, cleats (without metal spikes), jock/jill (recommended)

INTERESTED IN COACHING A TEAM?  We are looking for volunteers for all teams in the Jr. House League program.  You can indicate your interest in coaching when registering your player.  Coaches are essential to the development of our young players “A good coach can change a game, a great coach can change a life” [John Wooden]

Partnership with Their Opportunity to offer low-income families a means to enroll their children in the Jr. House League or House League Programs.  Spots have been reserved in each program for Their Opportunity applicants.

Mission Statement: Their Opportunity exists to provide low-income families with the means to enroll their children in local sports & recreation programs. By alleviating the financial costs of enrollment fees, children can develop the confidence, social skills and healthy lifestyle attainable through sport.

What makes us Unique: Children receiving sponsorship are required to “pay it forward” through Their Opportunity’s give-back program. This program is beneficial to both the child and the community, as children use the skills they have developed through sport to enhance the community through service and engagement.
