Police Checks: The CBA requires all coaching staff (Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Managers and Co-Managers) to have a valid police check with vulnerable sector check on file with the CBA. A ‘Valid’ check is one that was issued with 2 years of the season start (e.g. within 2 years of May 1st, 2020). Police checks can be requested by going to the police station located at 2046 Maple Grove Road in Bowmanville, or using the online application found at the link below.
What you need: Print the CBA letter below, fill in your name and date, and bring with you to the station (this identifies you as a CBA volunteer). You will also need to bring your photo identification.
DRPS police record check: Durham police offer online services for coaches to get their police record check. It will then be mailed and a copy will need to be forwarded to the CBA Registrar or use the link below to upload to the CBA Registrar.
Criminal Offence Declaration: New in 2021, CBA will require a Criminal Offence Declaration each year that a formal Police Check/Vulnerable Sector Check is not needed. This new requirement is in line with updated OBA insurance requirements that require CBA to provide the current state of all ‘team staff’ to them with our rosters/insurance application. What to do: download, print and complete the form. Scan and email the completed form to our Registrar “Registrar@ClaringtonBaseball.ca” or complete the Online Form.
